Welcome to November 1st!
It was only 4 short weeks ago that we started the #ipromise challenge and I hope you feel like you are in a better position with your goals now than when we began.
For me personally, it’s so important that I manage my stress levels in order to reach my goals, whether those goals are professional, personal, health or fitness related. I think stable mental health is the most important piece to functioning consistently and productively no matter how old you are, 4 or 40 years old.
‘TAKE A BREAK’
One of the things I do if I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed is ‘TAKE A BREAK’. I stop in my tracks and try to sort out why I am feeling stressed. I’m not sure if you can relate to this or not, but if I am feeling stressed, my patience are lower, I want to eat more sugary/salty food, I sleep less, and I overall do not function as productively as I know I can.
‘WRITE A LIST’
Another thing I do if I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed is ‘WRITE A LIST’. I actually write a few lists… The first list will consist of everything i need to do in the immediate future (within the next month). The second list will consist of everything I need to do in the next week or so. And the third list will consist of of everything I need to do that day. As I complete each item I cross it off. There’s something very satisfying about crossing off items on my ‘To-Do Lists’.
‘COOK A NEW RECIPE’
Something else I will do if I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed is ‘COOK A NEW RECIPE’ There is something very therapeutic about cooking and shopping for new ingredients. It’s satisfying to see a recipe turn out the way it’s meant to, plus I get to take photos of food!
‘TAKE PHOTOS’
This leads me to my next stress reliever, ‘TAKE PHOTOS’. Since I was in grade 8 I have been known as the girl who takes photos of everything. I love photographer and I can take photos for hours.
‘READ A BOOK’
Depending how I am feeling or what I currently ‘need’ I might ‘READ A BOOK’. I currently have 3 books on the go right now and one of them that I am thoroughly enjoying is Robert Kennedy’s BULLSEYE.
‘WORKOUT’
‘WORKING OUT’ may not always be the easiest thing to do when I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed but once I am in the gym lifting or doing cardio, I am always feel better when I am finished. I never regret working out as a form of stress relief.
‘TALK WITH A FRIEND’
Sometimes just having someone hear me out will help me feel stressed. But sometimes it’s also great to get the perspective of new ears. Reaching out to a friend has always been beneficial to relieving stress.
For the month of November let’s #beatstress so we can achieve our very best performance.
What strategies do you use to BEAT STRESS?
yesterday = chest, front delts, calves, side delts, and cardio. I decided to have two rest days from now on. I took off today to do more job hunting bc Idk when my temp contract expires.

Are going insane. Sinus pressure and a rash. The sinus pressure is so intense that I feel weak. I may be having some inner ear issues because my balance is off as well. >.<
I need to feel better for work tomorrow. I can’t drop a tray and I gotta be able to stay on my feet. Ugh.
Today’s workout- chest, calves, front and side delts.
